Monarch Moment: “I got very lucky coming here. I like living here and they like me.”

Roy A. has a reputation to uphold. Everywhere he goes, people know his name and know what he’s capable of —helping others every chance he can.

As a child in Brooklyn, the son of German immigrants, life wasn’t always easy, but Roy stayed out of trouble. As he grew up, his family moved further outside of the city and Roy voluntarily joined the army to help the war effort, though he was serendipitously stationed in Germany.

After his tour was finished, he came home to marry, have three children, and marry again after his first wife passed. They raised their kids without many rules, but with the firm conviction that they, too, should stay out of trouble and help others whenever possible.
At Spring Meadows, he has his health, two cars, and a pilot son who can swoop in with a private plane in case anyone needs a lift, near or far. Roy is always there to help.
